  Our family has been with Dr. Bakanauskis for over 15 years. She is very thorough and none of us have ever felt rushed during our appointments. My daughter at 18 years old got off a flight from Florida and was feeling tired and her feet were somewhat swollen. I figured Dr.B would tell her to rest, and drink lots of water. But, Dr. B was concerned and ran some blood work to be safe. My daughters kidneys were shutting down, and discovered she had Lupus. My daughter was hospitalized for two weeks, and would have died had Dr. Bakanauskis not taken her complaints seriously. My husband was with me at an appointment with Dr.B and he mentioned his Mom passed away from Colon Cancer. She asked if he had a colonoscopy yet. He told Dr. B that his Dr. (He had since childhood) said he could wait until my husband was 50 years old. (My husband was in his 40's). She said, "I would recommend you get a colonoscopy immediately"- in which she wrote an order for- and the results showed stage four cancer. She shows great concern for her patients and is direct. Dr. Bakanauskis is pleasant, proactive and relates to all ages. My kids saw her when they were young, and now go to her as adults. We're thankful for her.
